Principal Radiotherapy Engineer - South East

A permanent position for a hghly senior Radiotherapy Engineer with the highest level of hands-on engineering responsibility within the Radiotherapy department and management responsibility for the radiotherapy engineering team within the hospital.
As a result you will have delegated responsibilty to provide primary technical support, maintenance and servicing on medical equipment incorporating particle accelarators, radioactive sources, high voltage and high power microwave devices, vacuum systems, water systems, pressurized gas systems, mechanical assembly and integrated computer systems which includes quality assurance, preventative maintenance and complex faulting finding, repair and calibration of the diagnostic and therapy radiation units, with a large emphasis on linear accelerators. In addition as a senior specialist you will also work with the Radiotherapy CT scanners.
As the primary engineering lead you will also have be in regular contact with technical, professional, medical, managerial and commercial personnel.
Working within a leading hospital in the South, this role requires both a clinical engineering skill set and excellent communication skills.
Qualifications: BEng Electronic Engineering or equivalent plus 5 years radiotherapy post graduate experience OR 8 years plus of extensive radiotherapy engineering experience
In addition you should have extensive knowledge of specialist and advance procedures acquired through manufacturers' training on radiotherapy and imaging equipment
and be highly computer literate with expertise and familiarity with hardware troubleshooting, Networks/IT infrastructure, be able to expand and repair a networked computer system.
