Medical Engineer - Band 5 - Gloucestershire

Our Client is seeking a number of experienced Medical Engineer to join their team immediately to provide additional assistance to their existing team.  You will be working in one of the West Country's leading Hospital and will be part of a very dynamic environment in a modern fresh environment.

The objective of the role is to be provide a medical engineering support function in the day to day technical support to the everyday EBME services.  Being guided by a senior member of the existing team you will maintain and repair in accordance with current MHRA standards the complete inventory of critical care equipment found in the specialist hospital.  Equipment will range from from common patient monitoring equipment, through to Infusion Pumps, Syringe Drivers and Critical care equipment found in the operating theatre and high dependency units.

You will be required to work unsupervised with Electrical Safety tester and other appropriate dedicated test equipment, therefore knowledge of equipment class and type is essential. In addition you may be required to conduct routine annual safety checks and perform functional checks on equipment that will continue to be retained by the Trust. In addition you will be required to provide reactive technical support fro the common range of medical devices being received in the Medical Engineering Department on a daily basis.

Latterly you will be commissioning and acceptance testing of the equipment as it arrives on site from the manufacturer and then placing it out in the wards where it is required.  

The successful candidate will be a recognised medical engineer who is familiar with UK medical device safety protocols and has previously worked in a UK NHS Hospital environment within the past two years.
